Some Team
Some Cafe began as a pop-up in the Collector town hall in 2015. A year later we moved into the heritage-listed Collector General Store, built in 1829, and we’ve been slowly bringing the building back to life ever since.
We’ve built Some Cafe within a small and incredibly supportive community, with local staff, friends and family all having a hand in the place along the way. There’s always something we’re working on, from restoring the old building and tending the hives to making preserves and coming up with something new for the store.
Some Journey
Over the past 11 years, Some Cafe has filled up with our own products and projects, alongside a few things we love from other makers. We keep the cake cabinet full with an ever-changing mix of things we’ve baked and worked on in-house. We make our own range of preserves, keep bees for honey, cook simple food and serve coffee from Single O in Sydney, with the open fires going through the colder months
Our historic 200-year-old building has seen many lives, including a blacksmith’s, pub, petrol station, and general store. A big part of what we do these days is maintenance. We’ve installed new wooden floors, windows, doors, roofing, solar panels and garden seating, as well as the not so glamorous stuff like grease traps and septic systems, ensuring this historic building remains in top condition.
